Maximiliano Garcia and his wife, Esperanza, are first-generation coffee producers from the village of El Huabo, San Ignacio.
Their farm, Garmas, is made up of several carefully managed plots, where Maximiliano and Esperanza Garcia skillfully cultivate a rich diversity of coffee varieties, including Caturra, Catuai, Bourbon, Marsellesa, Parainema, and geisha.
In the 1960s, gesha was distributed throughout Panama due to its resistance to coffee leaf rust, though its fragile branches limited widespread adoption. While originally from Ethiopia and popularized in Panama, the gesha variety has found a special place in Peruvian coffee and thrives in its unique climate and fertile soils.
Maximiliano and Esperanza treat each variety with precision and rich knowledge of their land. The couple's farm has earned a reputation for its excellence and is celebrated not only for the outstanding flavour profiles their coffees yield, but also for the unwavering attention to detail and sustainable practices that define its production from seed to cup.
With notes of peach, white flowers, honey, and green tea, this coffee boasts malic acidity and a delicate body.
