José Elcias Martinez

For the second year in a row, we're pleased to share a coffee from José Elcias Martinez and his farm, El Casino.

José was raised in a coffee-growing family, but spent many years away from home, working throughout Colombia as a bus driver. Eventually, he returned to his roots and purchased El Casino, where he and his wife, Francy Helena Inga, have dedicated themselves to cultivating exceptional coffee.

Together, they manage 10 hectares of land, with five hectares planted to coffee varieties including Caturra, Pink Bourbon, Gesha, and Tabi. Beyond their work in coffee, José and Francy are known for their care of rescued animals, sharing their farm with roughly 15 dogs.

This year's lot reflects the intention and care behind their work - an elegant, expressive cup with remarkable clarity, sweetness, and depth. A coffee we're proud to feature once again.
