Francy Castillo

Francy Castillo and her four sisters grew up helping their parents on their coffee farm in Arboleda, Nariño, Colombia, which inspired her to specialize in agronomy to support and manage the family business.

The family farm, El Ubérrimo, is ideally situated to benefit from the region's volcanic soil rich in minerals from eruptions of the Galeras volcano. Nariño coffee has become a local economic pillar and a key player in the global reputation of Colombian coffee.

In addition to its ideal location, the farm benefits from Francy's innovative attention to detail and sustainable practices, including meticulous planning of seed selection, post-harvest storage optimization, and soil conservation techniques. Francy has also adjusted planting distances to give each coffee plant enough room for healthy roots and canopy development, which are essential for good growth.

All of Francy's thoughtfulness is evident in the resulting coffee. This sweet, clean-bodied cup from Francy offers notes of strawberry jam, 60% dark chocolate, and wine-like flavours.
